The engagement session is in fact the first time when you will see your photographer in action, so it is important to develop an unabashed relationship with them. It is my favourite session because it is not as stressful as the wedding day and it gives me the opportunity to know more about the couple and their likes and dislikes. Despite all the consultations (in person or over Skype) when we have studied the wedding’s timeline, the engagement session is the best opportunity to know each other, and it’s great fun.

It usually happens in a natural or urban environment (depends on the couple), and I always ask them to wear comfortable clothes which they feel confident in. Couple’s special places work better than places where they’ve never been, but if the couple don’t come up with their special location I don’t hesitate to suggest one of the beautiful places I know or have come across during my landscape photo-sessions.

The aim of the engagement session is to obtain fresh and natural photographs of the couple several months before the wedding day. My clients utilise these pictures for different approaches: For the “save the date” cards and invitations, for their “wedding guest book” (a press book where their guests leave their best wishes to the couple) and finally, the most up-to-date ones utilise the photographs on their “wedding websites” ( a website the couple create before the wedding date for their guests to see all the information of the Big Day).

Whatever your approach is, you will love having these lovely photographs of your engagement session.

*Engagement sessions are included in all my packages.
